Since the COVID-19 outbreak, the Kids Help Phone in Canada is reporting a 350% increase in calls from kids experiencing anxiety and mental health concerns. Over 75% of those calling are reporting that they have no one to talk to; a frightening illustration of social isolation, as well as the need for the essential service of mentoring.
At Big Brothers Big Sisters, our mission is to enable life-changing mentoring relationships. Through this pandemic, our volunteer mentors in Fredericton and Oromocto have continued to connect with the children and youth in our community who need it the most, when they need it most – which is right now.
